COMING EVENTS

   Come and meet our new Pastor.

First communion classes August 15^th, 22^nd , & 29^th from 9 am to 10 am for children for 2^nd grade and older with parents assent.   This is for youth or adults a parent is asked to accompany youth. Please call the office at 419-882-3701 so we can have enough material.  There is no charge and first communion will be offered to those completing the class    on Sesptember 12th.

Catechism classes will begin on September 12^th focusing on the basics of the Lutheran faith.   This is part of the pathway leading to confirmation of faith.  The sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion, the Lord's Prayer, The Apostles' Creed, the 10 commandments, the seasons of the church year and other topics will be covered.  The classes will be held on Sunday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:00 pm.  This class is also for those who are looking to make Advent their church-home or those who would like a refresher on Christian basics!  Please call the church office at 419-882-3701 so we can be prepared for the correct number of participants.  We are also seeking mentors for those taking this class so please consider becoming a mentor for a youth or a sponsor for an adult taking this class.   

Girls Circle Camp Aug. 9 - 18.  4^th and 5^th grade girls from Dorr Street School will be having a 10 day summer camp at Advent.  The camp will be Mon. – Fri. Aug 9 thru Aug 18 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.  

Aug. 15^th Quilt Sunday.  Quilts will be on display and blessed.  The quilts will be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church for them to pass out in their neighborhood.  A light lunch will be served after church to honor the quilt makers.  Everyone is invited to the lunch.

Sept. 12^th  Rally Day Luncheon following Worship Service.  First Communion and Catechism Class begins.  

 

  

Learn to make a Wire angel with beads. 2 sessions Bring needle nose pliers if you have them. Some will be available.

No cost for class but modest fee for supplies. Cost for supplies depends on number signed up for class but shouldn’t exceed $7.00 per person. Instruction and 1^st class will be Thursday Sept 16 5:30 to 8pm 2nd class & completion of construction Sat. Sept 18 1 to 4pm Please RSVP 419-882-3701 by Sept. 9. 2010.

October 30^th Trunk or Treat Halloween treats for the neighborhood children.
